Areas of Service

The Bahá’í Community of Uganda is ever eager and open to receiving new staff to take on the mantle and opportunities that lay before them and fill the vacant positions availed. Some of the roles presented require specialized training and need individuals with a particular set of skills and professionalism while others require an availability and readiness to serve.

Provided are some of the areas that are under the House of Worship and National Baha’i Office that provide an opportunity for service. 

National Baha'i Office

National Secretariat

The National Secretariat directly assists the National Spiritual Assembly in carrying out its day to day activities. The office further coordinates other agencies at the National Baha’i Office on behalf of the National Spiritual Assembly. It consists of various components;

Statistics Desk

The Statistics Desk continually gathers and analyses statistical data across the country on behalf of the National Spiritual Assembly. Charged with handling statistics, including data collection and the maintenance of important statistical files and databases. 

IT Support Desk

The IT Support Desk is charged with the creation and maintenance of official emails of all agencies on behalf of the National Spiritual Assembly, creation and management of official websites and also the provision of IT services to the staff under the National Spiritual Assembly.  

Learning Desk

The Learning Desk assists the National Spiritual Assembly to remain fully acquainted with the developments at the grassroots and report what is being learnt in the clusters whose progress they oversee. 

Facilities Management Desk

The Facilities Management Desk manages and maintains all facilities at the National Baha’i Center and the House of Worship. It ensures that a high standard of cleanliness is maintained together with the beautification of the physical structure of the National Baha’i Center. 

It is further responsible for running of the staff kitchen through the purchase and preparation of meals for staff and guests. 

Communication and Records Desk

The Communication and Records Desk handles the crucial function of corresponding and assisting the National Spiritual Assembly with channeling of guidance and encouragement to the Baha’i friends in Uganda.

National Treasury

The National Treasury office accounts and reports on the National Fund of the Faith. It receives and receipts contributions and makes out the necessitated payments. It further provides financial assistance to institutions, offices committees and staff at the National Office.

Office of External Affairs

The Office of External Affairs is charged with creating a coordination between the National Spiritual Assembly and the government and non-government agencies. It shares ideas with the outside agencies in a Bahá’í perceptive and they discuss about different discourses and aim to bring out a Bahá’í approach in these discourses.

National Institute Process Desk

National Institute Process Desk is charged with the development, printing, and distribution of institute materials. It also manages the utilization of the materials. It translates the Ruhi materials into suitable local languages. It further organizes institute spaces on behalf of the National Spiritual Assembly.

Bahá’í Publishing Trust

The Bahá’í Publishing Trust collaborates with the Regional Institutions to enrich the spiritual life of the community and enhance their capacity to efficiently manage the flow of core literature and oversee its’ optimal utilization. It ensures that core literature is available to the population in suitable local languages.

National Properties Committee

The committee is charged with the development and management of properties of the Institution. It documents the process involved in the development and management of the established Bahá’í properties. It is also charged with the safe guarding for the legal protection and ownership of all the properties.

House of Worship

Gardening

They are responsible for the greenscapes, plants and the flowers around the House of Worship and surrounding areas in the Holy place. They are charged with trimming the grass, planting new flowers, pest management and beautification of the grounds near the Temple and the National Baha’i Office.

Guiding

They are  entailed with the responsibility of receiving visitors who come to the Temple grounds. They share the history of the Faith with the visitors and answer any questions that may be asked by the Visitors. They also ensure the proper conduct of visitors while at the Temple and the surrounding areas.

Security

They are charged with the protection and safety of staff and visitors of the House of Worship and National Baha’i Office and all the property there within. They also guard the House of Worship and Mashriqu’l-Adhkár.

Maintenance

They are responsible for performing routine planned checkups on all the facilities around the National Baha’i Center and the House of Worship. They ensure that all the facility appliances are operational and the structures and facilities are functioning to the fullest. They strive at attaining  beautification of all the buildings and facilities at the different designated areas.
